Horseback Safari

There’s a different way to experience Mugie.

No engine. No rush. Just you, your horse, and the landscape opening up around you.

We’re excited to introduce our Sundowner Horse Rides; a slower, more personal way to explore the conservancy. Riding at an easy pace, you move quietly through the bush, with time to notice the small things, the light shifting, birds calling, wildlife moving in the distance.

Our horses are part of everyday life here. They head out regularly with the team, covering long distances as they help collect wildlife data across the conservancy. It’s work that helps us understand how animals move and live across this landscape. When you ride, you’re stepping into that rhythm, not just passing through, but becoming part of it.

As the afternoon cools, you’ll head out across open plains for your sundowner ride. The air softens, the colours deepen, and everything feels a little more still. It’s the kind of moment you don’t need to rush, just sit back, take it in, and enjoy where you are.

It’s simple. It’s peaceful. And it’s a beautiful way to end the day at Mugie.
