Education Support
Suguta Mugie Primary School, a cornerstone of our education initiative, serves approximately 150 students, including children of Mugie employees and boarding students from neighboring areas. As one of the top-performing schools in the region, Suguta Mugie Primary provides a comprehensive and holistic education that goes beyond academic excellence to focus on conservation, health, and life skills. The school fosters a supportive and nurturing environment where students are encouraged to become responsible and engaged members of their community.
Since January 2019, in collaboration with The Moyo Foundation, we have introduced Healthy Kids classes to enrich the students’ understanding of important topics such as personal hygiene, environmental conservation, and the significance of trees in our ecosystem. These sessions, led by our health officer or guest speakers, empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become stewards of the environment and healthy, responsible members of society.
In addition to these efforts, Mugie Conservancy extends its educational support across the broader community by contributing to the development of local schools in various ways:
- In-Kind Support: We provide direct assistance to 12 schools in the surrounding areas, offering resources that enhance their learning environments.
- Employment of Teachers: To ensure quality education, we employ qualified teachers who are dedicated to nurturing students’ academic and personal growth.
- Employment of Support Staff: The hiring of support staff helps to maintain a smooth and efficient operation of the schools, creating a conducive environment for learning.
- Scholarships: We offer scholarships to students with outstanding potential, giving them the opportunity to further their education and reach new heights.
- Bursaries: Financial assistance is available through bursaries, enabling students from underprivileged backgrounds to access quality education without financial barriers.
Through these initiatives, Mugie Conservancy is committed to making a lasting impact on the next generation, helping them acquire the education and life skills necessary to build a sustainable future for themselves and their communities.
